Who We Are 

Shannon Knapp is the Founder of Trailblazers Uncensored. If her name sounds familiar, it’s probably because she has over 20 years of experience in the industry. In addition to creating Trailblazers Uncensored, she is the Founder and President of Horse Sense of the Carolinas, a center for equine-assisted psychotherapy outside Asheville, NC, and the Founder and Executive Director of Heart of Horse Sense, a nonprofit supporting quality, professional equine-assisted counseling, headquartered in Western North Carolina. Shannon is a Natural Lifemanship Trauma-Focused EAP trainer and an Eagala Advanced Certified professional with extensive experience working with a variety of clients, primarily those with histories of trauma.

Shannon is also an accomplished author of books, curricula and other resources for industry professionals, much of which is available on our Store.

As someone who has “been there” and “done that”, Shannon’s goal in creating Trailblazers Uncensored is to help others build, develop and succeed in their own equine assisted programs. Along with Shannon, the other members of our Herd are Em Koenig, Chris Tucker and Jillian Bruni.
